Supplied with Frengers X-Wing Radiant Passive Chilled Beams installed behind the timber slatted ceilings, the University of Washington Life Sciences Building was awarded with the '2018 DJC Building of the Year award' coming ahead of other esteemed nominees such as the Amazon Spheres, the Space Needle and the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.
The state-of-the-art building, located in Seattle, Washington, will be the base for the next generation of research, teaching, and public outreach. The building itself was designed by Perkins+Will, and features a 20,000 square-foot greenhouse which is irrigated with reused water, and solar glass fins which help to shade offices and generate electricity.
