MVHR Units

What are MVHR Units

Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) units transfer heat from extracted room air (via 'Eurovent Certified' aluminium static heat exchanger) to the fresh air supply.

The purpose of MVHR units is to help improve indoor air quality whilst conserving energy, this is done by recovering heat from outgoing / exhaust air and transferring the heat energy into the new fresh supply of filtered air to the indoor environment.

CASE STUDY: Frenger® Supporting The Pathway Towards Net Zero Carbon Buildings

According to the World Green Building Council and in light on the recent COP26 event, building and construction is responsible for 39% of all carbon emissions in the world, with operational emissions (i.e. energy used to heat, cool, and light buildings) accounting for 28%. The remaining 11% comes from embodied carbon emissions, or 'upfront' carbon that is associated with materials and construction processes throughout the whole building lifecycle.

80% of existing buildings will still be in use when net zero targets come into effect, so it is crucial designs look to use renewable energy, more energy-efficient systems, lower carbon construction materials etc. Scientists advise that humanity needs to reduce its carbon emissions by 7.2% per year for the next 10 years.

In this case study we will be looking at how Frenger's highly energy-efficient products can support the pathway towards Net Zero Carbon Building, whilst looking at some examples of worldwide sustainable projects we've been a part of.
